My Fellow Tennesseans and Residents of the 81st District:
The second session of the 105th General Assembly has recently adjourned and I would like to
take this opportunity to update you on some of the important issues that the General Assembly addressed.
All things considered, it's been a good year, especially when you take into account what we were able to
accomplish with very little in the way of revenue.
We set as our goal to invest in and expand educational opportunities, provide long term care options for
the elderly, provide for the health and safety of our citizens, pass a fiscally responsible, balanced budget
and go home. We did just that.
We moved directly into our business and achieved a great number of accomplishments, click here to view some of them.
In summary, we have accomplished those things we set out to achieve in January. We expanded the educational opportunities for our children, provided long term care options for the elderly, provided for the health and safety of our citizens, and passed a fiscally responsible, balanced budget with no new taxes.
Finally, I want to make sure you know how much I value the advice and imput I receive from folks at home. Many challenges lay ahead. I want to continue to hear from you on the issues you believe are the most important for us to address.
Again, thank you and may God bless you and your family.
