My Fellow Tennesseans and Residents of the 81st District:
Let me begin by extending a sincere thanks to those of you who
participated in the 2002 election. I am honored by your selection of
me as your representative in Nashville.
Over the past two years, my colleagues and I in the General Assembly
have set as our goal to do our business, balance the budget with no
new taxes and go home. We did just that last year and are in the
process of doing the same this year. We have been able to fund our
priorities in education and do so with no new taxes. In addition, we
were able to implement a statewide lottery, and, with the leadership
of Governor Bredesen, we have begun the process of retooling the
TennCare program.
As I visit with those who live in Tipton and Haywood County
communities, I hear similar thoughts. Most of us in the 81st District
share a common vision of investing in our children, protecting our
seniors and keeping the tax burden low for our working families. I
remain focused on achieving these goals.
As your elected official, I need the input of those I represent.
Please feel free to call, write or e-mail me at any time regarding any
issue important to you. I look forward to hearing from you. |
